A photographer from the local paper is upgrading his laptop and he wants your advice regarding how he can send his pictures to the news desk effectively from either home (where he has broadband) or on location (maybe through his smartphone).  Suggest the technology that can be used and describe how it works.

For the photographer i would suggest getting a 3g dongle. When you plug the device into the laptop you can send emails via it, and upload it to Facebook and twitter etc. He can also send it to his news desk from any were as long as the dongle is plugged in, as long as he has 3g. 3g is a wireless user it picks up signals from any were so you can use the internet unlimitedly.

protocols:
email
whats-app
Bluetooth
sms (text)

email: to use email you need either wifi or 3g. you click on 'compose email' to make an email message. You then type in the input you want to send to who you are sending it to. Next you put your sending partners email address into the bar at the top, then you click the send button to complete the email.

whats-app; whats-app is only compatible via wifi. if you have wifi then this enables you to sned messages and picture messages for free to somebody else who has the whats-app app.

bluetooth: Bluetooth
To use Bluetooth you need to have a phone, laptop, tablet or iPod with built in Bluetooth connection. With this you can send pictures music and videos with out a payment charge. With Bluetooth you can also connect it with a Bluetooth hands-free, but to send things to an phone or any other Bluetooth object you have to pair them together.

sms (text): To text you need a mobile phone and a phone network like t-mobile, O2 etc. Then find the text app on your phone and write what you want to say to the other person. Then to send the message you will need to type the persons phone number into the top bar so it sends to the person you want to send the message to.
